Job Title : Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location : Hyannis MA 02601

Contract Duratio n: 13 Weeks

Hours : 40 Hours per Week

Job Summary

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support surgical services in a hospital environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination sterilization preparation and distribution of surgical instruments while maintaining strict infection control and patient safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean decontaminate and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Disassemble sort and inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality
• Assemble surgical trays accurately using count sheets
• Package wrap and label instruments for sterilization
• Operate sterilization equipment (steam ETO Sterrad Steris washers ultrasonic cleaners)
• Maintain sterilization records logs and biological testing documentation
• Store and distribute sterile supplies to surgical teams efficiently
• Manage inventory and restocking of surgical instruments and supplies
• Follow infection control protocols and proper PPE usage at all times
• Maintain a clean organized and compliant work environment
• Support operating room staff by ensuring timely availability of sterile instruments

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong communication skills required
• Must meet one of the following: Anatomy & Physiology course completion passed Anatomy exam SPD certification or 3 years of recent SPD experience
• Ability to obtain or maintain SPD certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of Sterile Processing experience
• SPD Certification (HSPA/IAHCSMM preferred)
• Prior hospital or surgical setting experience
