Based: North America | Remote or NYC Metro

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Creative Director is the senior day-to-day creative leader of Dazed Studio. This role is responsible for ensuring that all creative work produced by the studio meets the highest standards of craft, cultural relevance, and strategic clarity.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Creative Director is a core member of the studio’s US leadership team. They are a senior creative partner to the MD, a mentor and manager to the creative team, and a trusted creative lead for our clients.

This role sits in close partnership with Dazed Studio’s Contributing Executive Creative Director, working together on team development, concept development, and the evolution of the department. While the ECD provides overarching creative vision and cultural direction, the Creative Director owns the execution, resourcing, and day-to-day leadership of the creative function.

The Creative Director must be able to lead multiple creative workstreams in parallel, manage and delegate across a growing team, and act as a point of escalation both internally and with clients. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can move fluidly between strategy, concept, execution, and people management—and who thrives in complexity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Creative Leadership & Quality

• Own the creative standard of all work produced by Dazed Studio in the U.S.

• Ensure ideas are culturally resonant, strategically sound, and executed at the highest level across formats (editorial, campaigns, experiences, social, film, partnerships).

• Provide hands-on creative direction across key projects, from concept through delivery.

• Act as a senior creative escalation point for the team and for clients.

• Champion bold, future-facing ideas—continuously pushing the studio’s creative ambition, formats, and cultural relevance forward.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, manage, and grow the New York creative team across disciplines.

• Set clear expectations, processes, and creative rhythms that allow the team to thrive.

• Coach and mentor creatives at all levels, developing both craft and leadership capability.

• Partner with the MD and ECD on org design, hiring, performance development, and long-term team growth.

Client Partnership

• Build and maintain senior creative relationships with key clients.

• Serve as a day-to-day creative lead for priority accounts.

• Confidently present work, lead creative conversations, and navigate feedback at a senior level.

• Help clients see beyond the brief—shaping ambition, not just responding to it.

Creative Operational Leadership

• Manage multiple live workstreams at once, ensuring clarity, momentum, and quality across the slate.

• Delegate effectively and support the team to get work across the finish line.

• Partner closely with Production, Strategy, and Operations to ensure work is well-scoped, well-resourced, and well-delivered.

• Identify risks early and step in when projects or teams need senior guidance.
  

Studio Growth

• Contribute meaningfully to pitches, RFPs, and new business development.

• Help define and evolve Dazed Studio’s creative positioning in the U.S. market.

• Be a visible creative leader for the studio—internally, externally, and culturally.

ABOUT YOU

• 8–12+ years of experience in the creative industry, with a clear trajectory of increasing responsibility, leadership, and creative impact.

• You are a senior creative leader with experience running complex, multi-disciplinary projects in an agency or studio environment.

• You are equally comfortable with big-picture thinking and detailed execution.

• You have a proven ability to manage multiple creative workstreams at once without losing quality or momentum.

• You are a confident people leader who knows how to delegate, develop, and motivate a team.

• You are trusted by clients and respected by creatives.

• You thrive in ambiguity and can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex briefs.

• You care deeply about craft, culture, and the people making the work.

• You are excited to help build something—not just run what already exists.
