Job Description

The Sales Consultant is responsible for selling new or used vehicles, specifically to service customers, at the dealership.

  • Responsible for all facets of the vehicle sales/lease process from greeting the customer to delivery of the vehicle and (related follow up), subject to responsibilities expressly reserved for management.
  • Consistently follows road to sale as set forth by management (i.e. walk around, test drive, needs analysis, etc.)
  • Responsible to scan vehicle identification numbers of incoming service drive customers.
  • Responsible to provide all “alert” customers with a proposal. If customers are unavailable, then the proposal should be sent to customer. i.e. email, text, etc.
  • Looks for available opportunities, alerts using data mining software i.e. Auto Alert Program
  • Makes required number of calls to follow up with service to sales opportunities.
  • Maintains minimum target sales goals set by upper management. Minimum benchmark of 30 cars per month.
  • Displays excellent customer service skills, including without limitation: Managing difficult or challenging customer situations; responding promptly to customer needs; soliciting customer feedback to improve service; responding to requests for service and assistance; meeting commitments to customers and management.
  • Works effectively with, and assists, other Sales Consultants, co-employees, and dealership management to create and maintain effective customer relationships and sell, lease, or deliver vehicles.
  • Completes accurate paperwork accompanying vehicle sales.
  • Follows Safeguards Rules and company safety procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent; minimum five years automotive sales experience; minimum two years automotive sales management experience.

Basic working knowledge of Dealership computer systems

Excellent selling, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Valid in-state Driver's license and clean driving record

Benefits

Group Benefits eligibility for full-time associates is 1st of month after 60 days. The plan includes:

401(K) eligibility after the completion of 60 days of service. A company match is provided up to 3% of the associate’s contribution. Participants must be 21 years of age or older.
