FINE ARTS (Choir Director, Music, and Social Dance Teacher) Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory High School Start Date: August 15, 2026 Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-time | Year-Round | Exempt Salary Range: $40,000-$70,000 Reports to: Headmaster Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory, a joyfully and authentically Catholic high school in south Denver educating students in the Western civilization tradition and the liberal arts and sciences, seeks dynamic teachers who desire to contribute to an engaging and joyful school culture and to lead young adults in their academic and spiritual formation. The successful candidate must have a passion for Music, Choir, and Social Dance, which is matched by their love of teaching and forming high school students in the Catholic faith. Full time and part time opportunities are available. Choir and Music at Chesterton Academy are required courses for all students and for all four years of high school. Social Dance is a required course for freshmen and sophomores. These courses are designed to introduce young men and women to the rich musical tradition of the Catholic Church, and the proper place of the musical arts in history and society. The Music Teacher will teach each grade level for one period per week. The Choir Director would teach and direct the students for two class periods during the week, as well as performance responsibilities three to four times throughout the year. Social Dance is taught for one period each week for freshmen and sophomores. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong proficiencies in content knowledge, teaching ability, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills. Accompanying these should be a passion to inspire wonder and excellence in students and a sense of the connections between fine arts and the humanities. Candidates must be practicing Catholics, pursuing a life of virtue and holiness through prayer and the Sacramental life. They must also be willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. These are necessary for modeling the Christian life to the students. A bachelor's degree (or higher) is required; teaching experience or training in classical/liberal arts education is also preferred. Exceptional candidates who are transitioning from other careers or recent college graduates will also be considered.
