University Counselor – American International School | Shanghai, China (Start August 2026)

We are seeking an experienced and student-focused University Counselor to join our American international school in Shanghai. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate counselor who enjoys guiding students through the university application journey and helping them achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
Guide high school students through university and college applications, with a strong focus on US admissions
Support students with academic planning, personal statements, and application strategies
Provide individualized counseling for students and families
Organize university fairs, workshops, and parent information sessions
Build and maintain relationships with universities and admissions representatives
Collaborate closely with teachers, leadership, and parents to support student success
Requirements
Native English speaker
Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
3–5 years of university counseling experience, preferably in an international or American curriculum school
Strong knowledge of US university admissions processes
Teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) preferred ✅
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Passionate about student development and higher education guidance
