Job Title: Residential Supervisor – Residential Level 1

Reports To: Residential Director or Program Director
Overview of Position:
The Residential Supervisor– Residential Level 1 is responsible for the overall operation of the assigned service
site(s), including staff, budget, compliance with State/Federal regulations, and general quality of service to
individuals served in these programs. The Residential Supervisor works to maintain the highest quality life and
positive home environment for the participants we support.
Qualifications:
The Residential Supervisor-Residential Level 1 to have, at a minimum:
1. A high school diploma or GED, and be at least 18 years or older; or
be 21 years or older;
2. Has at least two (2) years of experience in providing direct support to persons with a developmental
disability;
3. Ability to adequately communicate with recipients and staff;
4. Demonstrates competence and knowledge on topics required to safely support the participants as described
in the participant’s person-centered service plan.
5. A valid Social Security number or a valid work permit if not a U.S. citizen;
6. Ability to read, understand, and implement written and oral instructions and have the ability to perform
required documentation;
7. Must be able to meet the physical and emotional demands of the participant, which can include lifting,
running, and de-escalating emotional situations.
8. Ability to meet all deadlines as required by AlmCare.
9. Ability to accept constructive criticism and willingness to self-improve.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent the programs mission and core values of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the
general public.
2. Be familiar with SCL and Michelle P Waiver regulations.
3. Scheduling staff and/or assisting participants transport to/from medical appointments.
4. Oversees employee schedules for their assigned home(s) and ensures appropriate staffing coverage.
5. Monitoring labor hours and household spending and ensuring that assigned home(s) are operating within
budgetary guidelines.
6. Responsible for ensuring that all dietary needs/requirements are met for each individual.
7. Responsible for disbursement of personal needs money to participants.
8. Ensures all medication refills are called-in and collected in a timely manner.
9. Maintain financial logs and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
10. Responding to emergencies.
11. Ensure safety of house, including but not limited to: resolving maintenance issues, ensuring emergency
drill reports are completed, smoke detectors/fire extinguishers are operable, etc.
12. Participate in meetings both annually, and as needed, regarding individuals’ plans / needs.
13. Work collaboratively with team members, including case managers, guardians, behavioral specialists,
therapists, et al. to ensure overall health, safety and welfare of the individuals we support.
14. Monitoring and ensuring that staff follow agency procedures to promote optimal health care and behavior
supports, as well as optimal safety practices.
15. Ensuring that staff completes all required documentation in a timely manner.

16. Supervising staff interactions with individuals and supporting staff to promote the rights of the individuals
to achieve enhanced quality of life.
17. Ensuring that MSDS (material data safety sheets) are present for all supplies/chemicals as applicable for
assigned home(s) and ensuring that staff is properly trained on MSDS.
18. Complete all training in the required timeframes and stay current on all recertification training.
19. Participating as needed with investigations involving individuals and employees at assigned home(s).
20. Ensure staff are meeting each consumer’s individualized goals, which can include, but not limited to social
skills, personal care skills, money and budgeting skills, safety skills, and community integration.
21. Ensure participants are always learning, and never bored.
22. Ensure that the home environment(s) are personalized to the participant’s liking.
23. Ensure transportation to activities is scheduled, as needed.
24. Ensure staff document progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.
25. Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
26. Completes a supervisory training curriculum approved by DBHDID within six (6) months of beginning
supervisory responsibilities.
27. All other duties as assigned.
