Senior Salesforce Developer / Architect

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Agency: Arizona Department of Water Resources (AZDWR) Information Technology Division

Position Type: Staff Augmentation

Hours: 40 hours/week

Projected Start Date: March 9, 2026

Duration: Minimum 6 months

Work Schedule: Day shift (8 AM 5 PM)

Position Overview

The Arizona Department of Water Resources (AZDWR) is seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer/Architect to support the development, modernization, and maintenance of key technology solutions that drive the agency's mission. This role is responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and troubleshooting applications and integrations across multiple platforms including Salesforce , MuleSoft , Microsoft SQL Server , and Oracle .

This position requires a highly skilled technical professional capable of performing deep-dive system analysis, reverse engineering legacy applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high quality software solutions. The selected candidate will participate in planning, design, development, and implementation of both new and existing systems.

A hybrid work schedule (onsite + remote) is available for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain Salesforce applications and related enterprise systems.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and reverse engineering of existing applications to implement fixes or enhancements.
  • Develop and optimize integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft, SQL Server, Oracle, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to gather and refine functional requirements.
  • Participate in project planning, architecture reviews, and solution design.
  • Ensure interfaces and applications comply with changing technologies, state mandates, and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and diagrams.
  • Provide system support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Contribute to application development best practices, coding standards, and process improvements.
Required Experience & Skills Technical Skills
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a lead developer on full cycle Salesforce implementations .
  • Proficiency with:
    • Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS)
    • OmniStudio (OmniScripts, DataRaptors/Data Mappers, Integration Procedures, Document Generation)
    • MuleSoft integration development
    • Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
  • Strong understanding of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and integration design.
  • Experience refactoring and redesigning existing systems for improved performance and scalability.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile development practices and source control management.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills for working with technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (required).
