The Regulatory Specialist supports the successful commercialization of Home & Garden products by managing federal and/or state pesticide registrations and ensuring compliant, market-ready labeling and claims.

This role partners closely with R&D, Marketing, Graphics, Operations, and external regulators to move products efficiently from development to approval — while maintaining high regulatory standards.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, relational, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Drive Product Registrations

  • Prepare and manage EPA and/or state pesticide registration submissions.
  • Coordinate with R&D to obtain required chemistry, toxicology, and efficacy data.
  • Track submissions and proactively manage timelines, renewals, amendments, and state registrations.
  • Support resolution of agency questions and regulatory issues.

Ensure Label & Claims Compliance

  • Review and approve product labels to ensure alignment with EPA base labels and company standards.
  • Review advertising, digital content, packaging, and catalogs for regulatory compliance.
  • Help identify compliant claim pathways during product development.

Maintain Regulatory Infrastructure

  • Maintain regulatory databases and electronic files (registrations, renewals, discontinuations, facility licenses, tonnage reporting).
  • Support internal systems (SAP, SPX, Workfront) related to registration workflows.
  • Monitor federal and state regulatory developments and communicate business impact.

Build Productive Agency & Industry Relationships

  • Develop professional relationships with federal and state regulators.
  • Represent the company, as needed, in industry associations (e.g., HCPA, AAPCO, ALSTAR, NPIRS).

What Success Looks Like

  • Submissions are accurate, timely, and complete.
  • Labels and marketing materials move forward with minimal rework.
  • Regulatory risks are identified early and communicated clearly.
  • Internal stakeholders see Regulatory as a solution-oriented partner.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Role not eligible for sponsorship

  • B.S. or B.A. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline preferred. Equivalent experience in regulatory affairs will be considered.
  • 1 or more years of regulatory experience preferred.
  • Experience with California submissions and/or FIFRA (EPA) preferred.
