Psychiatrist – Outpatient with Limited Inpatient Coverage

Location: Charleston, SC

Schedule: Primarily Outpatient, with minimum 1 weekend/month of Inpatient Coverage

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our Charleston-based behavioral health team. This role primarily focuses on outpatient psychiatric care , with the flexibility and balance of limited inpatient coverage (minimum one weekend per month) . The ideal candidate is passionate about improving patient outcomes, values collaborative teamwork, and is comfortable working in both structured and autonomous environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for outpatient clients.
• Participate in a shared call schedule, providing inpatient coverage one weekend per month.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, nurse practitioners, and case managers.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation within the EMR system.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
• Active or eligible South Carolina medical license.
• Experience in outpatient and/or inpatient psychiatric settings preferred.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.
