Job Title: Packaging Engineer - Devices
Location: Somerset, New Jersey
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 40.0

We are seeking a hands-on Packaging Engineer to support the development and commercialization of innovative device-based consumer products. This role partners closely with Product Development to refine prototypes, troubleshoot performance issues, and bring new products to market.

Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end packaging development: design, prototyping, testing, and validation
Collaborate with product development to troubleshoot device/packaging issues (e.g., heat-related components, material performance)
Develop and improve packaging systems for heated/diffusion-based devices (e.g., fragrance, liquid/oil delivery systems)
Conduct packaging tests (ASTM/ISTA), analyze results, and implement improvements
Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure scalability and quality
Support supplier selection, specifications, and production readiness

Must-Have Experience:

5+ years in packaging or mechanical engineering (consumer or industrial products)
Experience with device-based systems involving heat + liquid/oil diffusion (required)
Strong background in structural packaging design and prototyping
CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred) + experience with rapid prototyping/3D printing
Knowledge of packaging validation standards (ASTM, ISTA, ISO)
Experience troubleshooting materials, plastics, and heat-related performance issues

Nice to Have:

Experience in fragrance, air care, home scent, or similar categories
Familiarity with regulated environments (FDA, hazardous materials, lithium batteries, etc.)
