Job Description

The Mayo Clinic Arizona (MCA) Department of Psychiatry and Psychology seeks a full-time psychiatrist with a passion for patient care, commitment to excellence, and experience in transplant psychiatry. This outpatient position is primarily focused on the pre-transplant psychiatric evaluation, participating in transplant selection committee meetings, and post-transplant treatment of psychiatric disorders. MCA is the largest solid organ transplant hospital in the area, with expansion to add a lung transplant program to the well-established kidney, liver and heart transplant programs. The Department’s primary mission is to provide evidence-based and personalized mental health services for the medically ill populations. The successful applicant would join a vibrant collegial work environment with a dynamic clinical team of psychiatrists, clinical health psychologists and neuropsychologists. As an academic position, it would include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as well as opportunities for engagement in clinical research. The Mayo model of care involves multidisciplinary teams offering evidence-based biologic and psychosocial treatments in a patient-focused, highly professional, and compassionate environment. Fellowship training and certification in Consultation—Liaison Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry is preferred, though not required. Our practice is exclusively outpatient, apart from a hospital consultation-liaison service, which has a rotational, cross-coverage and call schedule.
