UT Health East Texas is hiring a dedicated Operating Room Assistant to join its surgical services team on a full-time day shift basis at its Main Operating Room in Tyler, Texas. In this position, the Operating Room Assistant plays a vital support role in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of surgical suites while assisting clinical staff in preparing for procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning and turnover of operating rooms between surgical procedures
• Assist in preparing surgical environments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready
• Support Registered Nurses and surgical teams in maintaining a safe and sterile environment
• Follow hospital protocols and procedures for operating room readiness
• Assist with transporting and organizing equipment and materials as needed
• Maintain compliance with safety and infection control standards

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required (GED enrollment accepted)
• At least one year of experience working in a hospital or outpatient operating room setting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and follow detailed instructions
• Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and procedural guidelines
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and surgical teams
