Job Description

General Reporter - The Lancaster News The Lancaster News, Lancaster, SC, an award-winning community newspaper is seeking a motivated General Reporter to join our newsroom. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about local storytelling and committed to keeping the community informed. Responsibilities include:

Covering local government, schools, business and community events
Writing clear, accurate and engaging news stories on deadline
Conducting interviews and developing sources and relationships
Attending evening meetings and occasional weekend assignments
Taking photographs
Contributing story ideas that reflect community interests

Qualifications:

Strong writing and editing skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
