Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and performance of our truck fleet at a food distribution company. This role is responsible for ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently while minimizing downtime and controlling cost.
salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
- Prioritize repair orders and operational demands to ensure safe, clean, reliable and efficient trucks that meet our business schedules and exceeds customer expectations.
- Establishing and managing preventative maintenance and inspection schedules, coordinating repairs, and minimizing downtime
- Monitoring fuel consumption and controlling overall maintenance expenses, and may negotiating with vendors
- Ensuring the fleet adheres to all relevant regulations and legal requirements
- Develop/Overseeing employees by training, mentoring, encouraging, and leading employees to achieve goals and objectives
- Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are in place and followed
- Effectively communicating with drivers, technicians, vendors, upper management and other stakeholders.
- Determining the appropriate vehicles for the fleet, negotiating purchase or lease agreements, and managing vehicle disposal (Optional
