Financial Analyst | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, production variances, and COGS to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, specifically for production volumes and overheads.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including actual vs. budget performance, for manufacturing operations and executive management.
• Conduct profitability analysis for products, product lines, and manufacturing segments.
• Evaluate capital expenditure requests (CAPEX) for new equipment or facility upgrades, performing ROI and payback period analysis.
• Monitor inventory valuation, turns, and obsolescence, providing insights to optimize working capital.
• Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis for make-or-buy decisions and operational efficiency projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with cost accounting principles in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) commonly used in manufacturing operations.
• Experience in capital expenditure (CapEx) analysis and return on investment (ROI) calculations.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and variance analysis in a production environment.
• Familiarity with supply chain finance and inventory management best practices.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for operational and financial reporting.
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
