Financial Analyst | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $69,000 - $103,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, production variances, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
• Evaluate capital expenditure requests, performing ROI and payback period analysis for new equipment or projects.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and cost control.
• Conduct profitability analysis for products, customers, and production lines.
• Support month-end close activities by analyzing accruals, inventory valuations, and cost allocations.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements across manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis relevant to manufacturing operations.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and inventory valuation.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for financial reporting and data extraction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets using tools like Excel, SQL, or BI platforms.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on financial performance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles (e.g., standard costing, variance analysis).
• Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
