What You'll Do

• Guide customers through the Social Security Disability Benefits application process from start to finish
• Conduct face-to-face and phone interviews to gather information needed for case screenings and applications
• Serve as the go-between for customers, the Social Security Administration, Disability Determination Services, and the Maryland Department of Social Services
• Review documentation and medical records to assess eligibility and build complete case files
• Coordinate collection of medical records from healthcare providers and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete
• Explain the disability benefits process, required documents, and next steps to customers in a clear, supportive way
• Enter and maintain case information in a proprietary database - data entry, document scanning, and record management
• Conduct ongoing follow-up with customers, medical providers, and agencies to keep cases moving forward

What We Need From You

• Background in case management, social services, disability advocacy, benefits coordination, healthcare administration, or human services
• Strong interviewing and communication skills - you're comfortable talking to people in difficult situations
• Ability to review documentation and assess eligibility requirements
• Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders - government agencies, healthcare providers, and customers
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of cases at once
• Accurate data entry and electronic document management experience
• Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
• Self-directed and detail-oriented - you follow up without being reminded

Bonus

• Knowledge of Social Security Disability, SSI, or public assistance programs
• Prior experience working with disability determination or benefits administration processes
• Familiarity with Maryland Department of Social Services or similar state agencies
