Primary Duties Coaching Serve as the defensive line coach in
collaboration with the vision of the head coach.
Coach student-athletes, including all team practices and scheduled
games/competitions; assist in the development of game preparation and strategy; condition and train student-athletes in order to develop
skill, character, and teamwork in football.
Ensure that all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations are followed
including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress. Follow University procurement and travel
policies. Work in collaboration with fellow coaches and staff under the direction of the defensive coordinator and head football
coach
Maintain Student-Athletes Recruit highly qualified prospective student-athletes.
Monitor player academics,
encourage academic excellence including student-athlete health, wellness and overall welfare.
Program Success Assist
in the organization of camps and clinics; fund-raising opportunities; serve on committees that promote the success of the program and
athletics; establish and maintain community relations and engagement that enhances the success of the program.
Ancillary
Duties Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic
Partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field
- Work nights
and weekends
- Physical ability to fulfill duties of the position
- Knowledge of NCAA and/or RMAC rules and
regulations
- Able to demonstrate successful skills in cooperation, organization, communication and problem solving
- Able to
succeed in a collaborative, multifaceted environment
- At least one year of successful coaching in football at high school or higher
level, including intern or graduate assistant work
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree from an accredited
4-year institution
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to motivate, teach and counsel student-athletes
- Previous experience
at the collegiate level in football
- Strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach and counsel student-athletes to achieve their
highest potential
- Previous experience recruiting NCAA qualified student-athletes
- Experience with and commitment to
supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences
